Buckinghamshire Community Energy will help you to review all the options before selecting the best solution for your organisation, energy usage patterns and building type and location.
We work with community halls, factories, farms, schools, leisure centres – you name it, if it has a large roof and uses a lot of energy, we can help.
Your options include anything from solar panels to a biogas plant to biomass boiler or heatpumps.
Most importantly of all, we will help you make it happen by providing community funding and project management to make it a reality so that you and your community can own your carbon neutral future.
What’s the process?
- A site survey and analysis of current energy and building usage.
- Recommendations for the most efficient and cost-effective energy generation solution for the site.
- Establishment of partnerships and agreements with the building owner, and tenants if applicable.
- Funding to purchase and install low carbon technology for the site: for example, solar panels and EV charging and/or storage.
- A locked-in price per KWh for the electricity or heat the site uses at less than they currently pay, providing the site users with savings on their energy bills. After payback, this will be reviewed and new, lower prices may be charged for the remaining life of the installation.
- Project management of the solar or other type of renewable energy installation.
- Insurance and legal contracts.
- Ongoing maintenance and monitoring of energy generation for the life of the installation.
